Jersey Liberation  
 
Vintage Jersey Airport, the year 1945, eighty years ago. A Spitfire Ultramarine Mark IV in the foreground.  A special edition to celebrate 80 years of liberation. 
 
The image is taken from painting of Jersey Airport that I was not present to sketch. The reference material taken from an assembly of historical black and white images. This is Jersey Airport just after the occupation of the Island by German forces had ended. Quite a lot of the original structure exists although extended upon. The aeroplane in the foreground is the Spitfire Supermarine Mark IV which played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain.

The original painting of 'Jersey Airport '45' was painted in 2017 with acrylic paint on Hahnemühle bamboo paper 265gsm.
 
Printed on the Natural Line, Archival Bamboo (sustainable) paper, from Hahnemuehle, using archival inks.  The highest standard. 
 
These prints are a different colourway to the original paintings and are created to have a vintage travel poster feel.
