The Hayward Gallery has recently gone under a makeover. I visited the Hayward Gallery a few days after spending a day at the British Museum. What struck me was the similarity of the Architecture of the Hayward with the stone work and artwork of the Mayans. The Gallery has an almost temple nature to it, breathing, atop a hill. I took the reflective colours of the surrounding area to create the colour of the gallery with strong shadows to emphasize the structure and a bold back ground sky to push the building out with a wide ramp, walk, up to the gallery to emphasize its dominance. As depicted this building would sit comfortably on the Southbank or in Yucatan.
